Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance with “extras” cover you may be entitled to a rebate. Claims can be made by taking your receipt to your insurer for payment.
Health Care Card
If you have a Health Care Card and a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, your sessions will be bulk-billed to Medicare.
Medicare
If you have been referred by your GP and have a Mental Health Treatment Plan, you will be eligible for a Medicare rebate. As of the 1 November 2011, you will be entitled to 6 individual sessions per calendar year with an additional 4 sessions under exceptional circumstances. In addition to the individual sessions and where group sessions are conducted, you may be entitled to a Medicare rebate for up to 12 sessions in any one calendar year. Fee payments and Medicare rebates can be processed on the spot with either a debit or credit card.
